 Health & Wellness Coaching

The Good Shepherd Community Clinic now offers free Health and Wellness Coaching for all GSCC patients.

What is Health and Wellness Coaching?
A Health Coach helps patients get the skills, tools and confidence to take charge of their health so that they can reach their specific wellness goals.

The purpose of coaching is:
- To help patients understand advice given to them by their medical team
- To work with patients to use that advice to set goals and improve health

Health and Wellness Coaches work with patients to:
- Provide support and motivation
- Make sure patients understand their health condition
- Teach patients how to manage their health condition
- Give patients confidence

You Are in Charge of your Health
During health and wellness coaching, the patient takes the lead. Based on direction given to them by their providers, patients create their goals as well as the plans on how to reach these goals. The coach is simply providing motivation and support.

Who are Coaches?
As an essential part of the Medical Team, our Health and Wellness Coaches work with providers to give patients the best care possible. Health coaching is meant to work along with the medical advice given by our providers. Coaches help patients take the advice given to them by providers, and turn it into a goal with steps to reach that goal. Health and Wellness Coaches empower patients to change the lifestyle behaviors that have kept them from getting great health. Health coaches are able to listen and gain information from each patient to provide personalized guidance in changing behaviors and mindsets that stand in the way of living a healthier, happier life.

Health and Wellness Coaching is Free
There is no charge for the health coaching services; it is simply part of our mission of serving our patients.
