 FAQs:

  • The Nurse Practitioner Residency Program is designed to build on the existing knowledge and skills of the new graduate and provides an intensive but progressive ramp-up of clinical experiences and professional responsibilities. Trainees can anticipate having dedicated preceptor support during continuity clinic, monthly meetings with an assigned mentor, and lots of feedback designed to advance learning and build confidence.

  • Applicants should hold a current and unrestricted NP license in Oklahoma or be able to obtain one at least 2 months prior to the program start date.

  • Application Submission: Applicants must fill out an online application form, providing all necessary details and documents as outlined in the application requirements.

    Review: After the submission deadline, the application will be reviewed by the program's selection committee.

    Interview: Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview. This could be in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing, depending on the program's preference or due to logistics and convenience.

    Decision: Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program. Once accepted, candidates may be required to complete additional paperwork, such as a background check and drug screening, before starting the program.

  • NP Residents are considered a “full-time temporary” GSCC employee and receive compensation ($105,000 annually) and benefits.

  • Yes. Residents are expected to be licensed in the state of Oklahoma, by the start date of the program.

  • Not at this time.

  • As a full-time temporary employee, residents are eligible for:

  • Residents are scheduled to work Monday-Thursday 8a-5p and attend didactic training on Fridays from 8a-12p.
